TAYANNA is the stage name of the Ukrainian artist and singer, who is known for her incendiary performances, bright Ukrainian hits, as well as sensual pop and soft rock songs.

First musical steps.

Tetiana was born in the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi to talented parents who instilled a love of creativity in their children. She was not brought up alone, she has three brothers in the family, two of whom are now engaged in the confectionery business, and the third is a singer.

The girl studied at school with a musical inclination, but, as she herself stated, she did not like accordion lessons, and therefore she did not have a love for music since childhood. In high school, she started singing, discovered her charming voice, and her mother enrolled her in vocal lessons, where she showed her best. Tetiana performed at school matinees and was invited to city music venues where she had been singing since childhood. As a member of a creative ensemble, she was honored to perform in front of the Pope himself, who was visiting Lviv. Later, the singer shared her impressions of this, noting that it was an invaluable experience for her, which pushed her to continue her music studies.

Tetiana began traveling with her parents and wherever she went, she sang and performed as a young talent. This lifestyle led the future singer to the Black Sea Games, where she performed and won the audience's love, sympathy and an honorable third place with her charming voice.

As a student, Tetiana worked at a recording studio, earning money to pay for food and tuition. Even then, using the services of this studio, she recorded several solo songs, which gave her an incentive to develop her creativity.

Thorny career path

The singer's creative life is divided into several main stages, which not only stretched over time, but also led her to what she has now: to the insane popularity among the audience, as well as to the love of music critics and radio stations.

The "Гарячий шоколад" project

The band "Hot Chocolate", famous in the early 2000s, was looking for another soloist when their producer Klimashenko noticed Tetiana, who was just starting her solo career. Fascinated by her voice, Dmytro invited her to join the band, where she successfully worked for four long years. As the singer herself admits, if it weren't for this group, she would never have dared to go further in her musical career and would probably have remained in the background, content with small performances in her hometown. Later, after a conflict with the producer, whose advances she rejected, Tetiana was forced to leave the group. According to some sources, this departure was not her wish, as Dmytro did everything possible to make sure that the young and talented singer, who did not appreciate his advances, stayed out of work.

Trying to find yourself on "The Voice"

Tetiana tried twice to enter The Voice. In 2014, she failed, and none of the coaches appreciated her abilities and vocal skills. But she didn't give up and returned to the stage the following year, winning four seats at once. Of all the coaches, she preferred Oleksiy Potapenko, who took her all the way to the final with his guidance and advice, where she lost first place to Anton Kopytin. But even then, she gained immense popularity and was noticed by several famous personalities, including producers, so after participating in this song contest, Tatiana's career took off.

New project and first fame

The TAYANNA project appeared in the singer's life in 2017, when she entered the selection stage for the largest European competition, Eurovision. After passing the selection, she made it to the final, where she received the highest scores from the jury, but lost first place to the rock band O.Torvald.

The singer's punchy character allowed her to return to the song selection in 2018 with a new, incendiary song "Леля", which settled in the music charts for a long time and became one of the most striking tracks of the year. Unfortunately, the singer took second place for the second time. Despite the fact that the jury strongly supported her, the audience chose the young artist MELOVIN. A whole scandal erupted around the singer. Some music critics claimed that she was using a backing track in her performance, which literally drove her producer into a frenzy, but the singer calmly and without scandal proved on live TV that she always sings live and actually has such an amazing timbre. In addition, the song Tetiana performed with pleasantly surprised her fans. As a rule, the singer performs lyrical motifs, and in the composition "Леля" there were driving, incendiary, dance elements that made her performance similar to the shows of pop divas from the distant 70s of the last century.

After the experience with the Eurovision Song Contest, which only became an even greater incentive for the singer, TAYANNA releases her second album. The tracks from it burst into the Ukrainian music community and blow up the charts with their sensitivity, tenderness and unusual arrangements. It is characterized by the fact that many Ukrainian singers and bands took part in its creation, and they contributed to the creation of national and ethnic flavor in the music and lyrics. The music video for the song "Шкода" from this album won the Video of the Year award at the Golden Firebird music award, and the song was recognized as the Best Song of the Year by the Music Platform of Ukraine award. The singer confirmed her ability to create hits in 2018 with the release of the song "Фантастична жінка", whose bright and deep words resonated with thousands of Ukrainian women and became a favorite for many. And the following year, TAYANNA received the "Best Song of the Year" award for "Як плакала вона". 

In 2020, the world saw the release of the mini-album "Жіноча сила", which includes 5 tracks, including the song "Ейфорія", which again brings the singer the award "Best Song of the Year". 

There is no single motive in Tetiana's work, she is always in search of herself and something new, and therefore music critics attribute her songs to a variety of genres, ranging from pop music to indie with elements of funk. Her lyrics are dominated by her feelings related to the war, and she recently released the song "Хлопче", the story of which is a difficult topic for the singer. She participates in charity concerts and continues to write songs in her native language.
