About the show
Almost 40 young artists - students of the Broadway Kids Studio, the vocal ensemble "Zabava", the choreographic ensemble "Flamingo", as well as talented children 11 to 18 y.o., who were selected at auditions - will appear on the professional stage of the Podil Theater and will perform in English a licensed American musical "FAME Jr."
The action of this legendary musical takes place in the real prestigious New York High School of Performing Arts. Currently, it is widely known as the "School of Fame", where Liza Minnelli, Adrien Brody, Jennifer Aniston, Al Pacino, and other stars studied.
FAME is the story of talented, energetic young art students. There’s fame-obsessed Carmen, aspiring actress Serena, witty comedian/bad boy Joe, quiet violinist Schlomo, "talented but dyslexic" dancer Tyrone, purposeful actor Nick, a plump Mabel who’s constantly fighting overweight, a bit chubby serious dancer Iris from a poor family, and many others.
The history of the musical began in the 1980s when a movie-musical from the MGM Film Company with the same name was released, written, and produced by David de Silva. After the screen success, De Silva created the musical "FAME", which was staged in many countries around the world.
The musical continues to be a success, thanks to the exciting music and dances that reflect the creative spirit and dreams of young people for a great career in the arts. One of the most famous hits - "I'm gonna live forever" - became a kind of anthem for young artists and fans of the musical. "FAME" teaches and inspires you to never give up and achieve your goals and dreams in the art world.
Ukrainian production of the musical "FAME Jr." is a social and charitable project in which children participate absolutely free of charge. Its main mission is to support young people living in Ukraine during a full-scale war.
Broadway Kids Studio is the only music and theater studio for children in Ukraine, which is engaged in staging licensed Broadway musicals in English and cooperates with global licensing agencies in the USA and Great Britain.
