The formation of the band Bez Obmezhen
The band's history began in the hometown of Bez Obmezhen's vocalist, Serhii Tanchynets, in Mukachevo (Zakarpattia region, Ukraine). At the age of 11, the boy started playing the guitar, although he never received a diploma from a music school. But during his school years, he sometimes played with his music teacher after school. He also took up vocals, but his academic singing style was not in tune with the rock genre. When Serhii Tanchynets was 17 years old, he and his friends formed the band Bez Obmezhen. In the beginning, the band had the following lineup: Serhii Tanchynets, Vladyslav Vorobets, Ihor Rybar, and Serhii Popovych. They first appeared on stage on January 14, 1999, in their hometown.
The beginning of the creative way
The band was still a long way from national success. It was only in 2006 that the musicians signed a professional contract with a producer. That's when they moved to the capital of Ukraine. By then, they had already participated in the finals of the world-famous Global Battle of The Band’s music championship.
On the eve of the first album release, it was decided to change the band's name to Without Limits. The initiator of this step was the new producer. After all, the main song of the album was performed in English and was called "Underground". The video for this song was included in the rotation of the M1 music channel and held the top positions in the charts for several months.
Search and return
However, in 2008, Bez Obmezhen underwent radical changes that led them to national fame. The band's lineup changed almost completely, with only the front man, Serhii Tanchynets, remaining of the former members. It was at this time that the new core of the band was formed, which has remained in place to this day.
The year 2012 was marked by cooperation with the Berkut hockey club. The artists often received invitations to perform at matches, and later created the team's anthem and released a video for it. The next step was to stop working with the current promoter and return to the Ukrainian-language name. After all, it was much more memorable and understandable to the fans.
Despite the fact that Serhii Tanchynets and his musicians had already played as opening acts for top Ukrainian bands and were active participants in music festivals, their own path to national fame had just begun. In the winter of 2013, the frontman gave an interview to a Transcarpathian publication in which he said that they felt like babies in show business.
The stars have lit up!
Everything changed in 2016, when Bez Obmezhen came to the X Factor singing show. It was the point of no return: either they become famous and make their way into big show business, or they remain a band that plays wherever they can. Since their discography already included two LPs, and their overall career spanned 17 years, they needed a breakthrough. Konstantin Meladze called their performance at the audition "real male music". However, the guys did not get enough votes in the live shows. Nevertheless, the stars were already visible through the thorns.
And here it is, great recognition and fame. The following year, the album "5 хвилин" was released, in support of which the guys toured more than 20 cities in Ukraine. Another year later, the album "Буду з тобою" and a hundred concerts across the country. The final of this large-scale tour took place in the Kyiv Sports Palace in the presence of eight thousand spectators. Those who were unable to attend the event live watched a live broadcast on one of Ukraine's music channels.
In honor of their 20th anniversary, Bez Obmezhen released a single with the symbolic title "Зорі запалали» (The stars have lit up). In just a month, the song gained several million views. On August 24, 2020, a large-scale show was scheduled at the NSC Olimpiyskiy as part of the Billions tour. However, due to the pandemic, it was postponed to August 2022, and then again due to the war. During this time, the band released a new album, “Вільні Люди”, which was inspired by meetings with fans in different parts of the country. The record was released on the anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity in 2021. In December, of that year, the video was viewed by more than a million YouTube users.
Creativity during full-scale war
The first days of Russia's invasion of Ukraine were difficult for every Ukrainian, and the band members were no exception. After realizing what was happening, the band began to return to music a little bit, with concerts in the subway for people who, for obvious reasons, stayed there for a long time, and later performances at the front for the defenders. The first track released during the invasion was a song with the symbolic title "24/02", a date that changed the lives of Ukrainians and the world before and after. A few months later, they went on an international tour with charity concerts to raise funds for the needs of the Ukrainian army. The band also cooperates with the Hope.ua Foundation, which supports Ukraine's defense capabilities.
During the full-scale invasion, Bez Obmezhen released the following songs: “24/02”, “Героям”, “Повернись живим”, “Дим”. The band also released a joint track with Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich – “Народжені вільними”.
