Till Lindemann

Date of birth: January 4, 1963

Occupation: German vocalist, actor, poet, frontman of “Rammstein”.

Many of his music videos are marked "16+"; you can love or hate his work, but you can't ignore it for sure.

In his youth, Till Lindemann worked as a carpenter and could have become a swimming champion. But because he once left a hotel in Rome without permission during the European Championships, he was banned from participating in the Olympic Games. So, due to his cheerful disposition, his career as an athlete did not work out.

Lindemann was first a drummer in the punk band “First Arsch”, followed by “Rammstein”. The band managed to break stereotypes because their songs were in German, and German was never considered to be a mellifluous language. Because of their harsh performance style, the musicians were accused of sympathizing with fascist ideas. Till neither denied nor confirmed these accusations, saying that he did not have to justify himself, and if their music provoked, it was only for the better.

Two collections of Till's poetry, “Knife” and “In the Silence of the Night”, were published, and he has also appeared in eight feature films.

Peter Tägtgren

Date of birth: June 3, 1970

Occupation: Swedish musician, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, music video director, leader of the bands “Pain” and “Hypocrisy”.

Peter. Rocker from the school desk

Peter fell in love with music from an early age. At the age of seven, he was already playing guitar and writing songs, and later he mastered the drums.

His family had an extremely negative attitude towards religion, and this greatly influenced the future musician's worldview. A year later, he was introduced to a neighbor who gave him a vinyl record called “Destroyer” by “Kiss”. Eventually, “Kiss”, along with “Venom” and “Metallica”, shaped Peter's musical tastes and preferences.

At first, Tägtgren was a member of the band “Conquest”, but it didn't last long. Then he traveled to the United States in search of happiness and inspiration and returned to Sweden.

His first "brainchild" was the boy band “Hypocrisy”, of which he became the frontman. Later, the artist felt uncomfortable in one band, and he formed the band “Pain”. There he also became a leader, musician and composer.

Starting with his second release, “Rebirth”, all of Tägtgren's songs hit the Swedish music charts.

Along with his participation in two bands, Peter also developed “Abyss Studio”, his own recording studio. He managed to perform at concerts and record records at the same time, but he still lacked drive.

The acquaintance that will create “Lindemann”

The next stage of development was Petera's acquaintance with Till and participation in “Lindemann”. The story of the collaboration between the two legends began with a fight, which, fortunately, was prevented. Lindemann and Tägtgren met in 2000 in Sweden. It was Peter who prevented clashes between “Rammstein” musicians and bikers. And that's when the idea of a joint project was born.

The idea had been nurtured and matured for many years, but no one could find the time to realize it. The debut album of the metal project “Skills in Pills” was released in 2015 on Till's birthday, and immediately soared to the top, taking the first place in the German charts. In the image announcing the album's release, Peter and Till were dressed as newlyweds. And the album itself began with the song “Ladyboy”.

While the songs on Skills in Pills were performed in English, F&M's next album, released in 2019, contains the German-language lyrics that make Till so recognizable. The album was created in collaboration with the Thalia Theater and is based on a modern take on the fairy tale of Gretel and Hansel. The music video for the single "Steh Auf" features the famous Swedish actor Peter Stormare, known for such films as "Fanny and Alexander", "Chocolate", "Dancing in the Dark" and many others.

The band's first concert in Kyiv took place in December 2018. The event was not announced, everything was kept secret, and photo and video shooting was prohibited.

The band gave another performance in Kyiv in March 2020, and all subsequent concerts in Ukraine were postponed due to the pandemic and later due to the Russian invasion.

In 2023, Till Lindemann will give concerts in Riga, Katowice, and Tallinn as part of European Tour.
